My father was Elias Olsen, born 2/7/1899 in the municipality of Vagan, municipality number 1865, name of domicile: Svolvaer. Elias arrived in
Quebec, Canada in April 1924. He was married in 1943 and was tragically killed in 1952. His parents were John & Hansine. Their children were (in order of birth) Amalie, Haakon, Elias, Alma, Alfred and Magdalene. My sister and I are trying to find any information about our father and if we have any relatives. Any help would be appreciated |

The baptismal record for Elias Schøning Dreyer is #54.
His parents were Johan Olsen Telstad and Hansine Fredrikke. |

John Olsen and Hansine Fredrikke Eliasdatter were married Jan 25 1885, see #1.
John (Johan) Olsen was born Oct 28 1845 and his father was Ole Iversen.
Hansine Fredrikke Eliasdatter was born Sept 8 1863 and her father was Elias Eliassen. |

| Hansine Telstad died 14 Jan 1943 and is buried at Svolvær cemetery in Nordland / Vagan according to DIS Gravminner i Norge. |

Elias' brother Alfred Martin Telstad (1903-1985) married Olga Marie Langnes (1910-2001) on 30 Oct 1937. Link. They have living children and grandchildren.
Sister Magdalene/Lena Telstad married Emil Heggdal
Sister Alma Gunarda Telstad married Hans Syverstad in 1948.

Banns of marriage in newspaper "Norsk Kunngjørelsestidende", Oslo, 14 Jan 1922:
Elias Schøning Dreyer Eliassen, stoker on Steamship "Vesteraalen", Svolvær and Borghild Natalie Olsen, Hammerfest.
(signed) Parish priest in Hammerfest.
Lastname should have been Olsen not Eliassen, but I assume it's him...?
Was he a stoker by profession?

How strange!
The Elias Schønning Dreyer Telstad who married Aminda Regine Arntsen (born Tromsø 16 Aug 1898) in Birkeland, Fana, Hordaland on 24 Apr-1840, is born in Svolvær on 02 Jul 1899!
Father is listed as deceased foreman John Telstad. Her father is listed as deceased fisherman Arve Sørensen. Aminda has been married before, but her husband is dead.
It must be the same person.

Hmm, maybe we need to go back and check some of the information provided by the OP on his arrival into Canada and work back from that and see who he really is.
This might be where the OP gets her arrival information from.

Probably him again in Alaska in 1927. Here he is listed as a Fisherman from Prince Rupert BC and originally from Aakrahavn.
