Jane C.

Good day.

Thank you very much for the help. While we had some of the Bryne family information it was not complete or sourced.

The Bryne family was never a priority with me, I have spent many years on the Helland side and am very satisfied with what I have, thanks to norwayheritage and many other sources.

Is there a comparable site for Swedish family searches.

Thanks again.

Yes finding relatives currently alive in Norway can be a challenge. One suggestion I would have for you is to use the Geni.com tree that JaneC gave you a link to. The lady that put together that profile of Gabriel Berntson Bryne seems to know an awful lot about his descendants. I think she also knows a lot about the descendants of his father who remained in Norway. You can contact the manager of a profile in Geni by clicking on Contact Profile Manger tab.

Just taking a quick look at the 1910 Norwegian Census shows a large number of the Bryne familiy still in Bryne in 1910.. Here is a link to the 1910 census for Byrne.

I have written to the applicable churches in Rogaland County, hoping I get a reply.
