Trying to locate info on Eisten/Esten. No wife found in files. Tried 1865 census for 1872 Dverberg.

Son is Andreas Estensen Dahl, b 1836 in Ørlandet, Strindens Parish, Sør-Trøndelag, Norway I think. Found a marriage record for him and Gjertrud Margrete Arnesdatter that indicated they married in 8 July 1875 in Dverberg.

The 1875 marriage record you mention shows Andreas as a widower.
So this is probably the same man in the 1865 census with a slightly different explanation of birthplace.

The 1910 census gives an exact date of birth.

Born 12 Sep 1836: #64 Andreas, parents Esten Andersen Walmyren & Ane Rasmusdatter

Confirmation 12 Oct 1851: #7 Andreas Viklem, born 12.09.1836 Strinden, parents Esten Andersen, Ane

A source on familysearch shows the farmname to Ane Rasmusdatter as Havsteen
Same source shows that Esten is born in 1786 in Innset, Hedmark (Today: Innset, Trøndelag); parents Andreas Hendrichsen & Ingeri Erichsdr

The farmhistory book from Innset shows that Esten originates from the Sigstad farm in Innset, and list his ancestry all the way up to his great-great-great-grandfather Nils Henriksen Sigstad.
1. Nils Henriksen Sigstad. Owner in 1657.
2. Henrik Nilsen Sigstad. Owner in the 1670s
3. Andreas Henriksen Sigstad. Owner in 1715. Wife Cathrine Johnsdatter.
4. Henrik Andreassen Sigstad (d. 1782). Wife Kirsti Nilsdatter (1708-1784)
5. Andreas Henriksen Sigstad (1748-1820), m.1777 to Ingrid Eriksdatter, Nordland, Klingenberg (d. after 1829)
6. Esten Andreassen. Travelled to Strinden and settled there....
The parents to Ingrid Eriksdatter are listed as Erik Knudsen Klingenberg & Anne Johnsdatter (1706-1799) both from Innset.
Source: Innset: en bygdebok, volume 2. by Anders Erik Tronshaug, Rennebu kommune 1975

Esten & Ane's marriage in Strinden on 22-Jun-1832. He is a widower.
She is listed as Ane Rasmusdatter Havsteen from "Tomset", father Rasmus Toresen.
Havsteen and Tomset are places within todays Trondheim city centre. The same is Walmyren.
Orig. marriage record
Transcribed marriage record

Please note the big distances. Andreas is born in the city of Trondheim, confirmed in the rural township of Ørlandet, and lived his adult life in the northern township of Dverberg.

Hello, I am wondering if a Rasmus Viklem was listed on any ship's manifest or was a sailor. He was, born August 22, 1870 in Orlandet, and residing in Kristiansund for most of his life, married to Marie Eleanora Benedikte Jensen, and son of Ove Johannesen Viklem – Father - 1839–Deceased
Ingerborganna Ingerbrittsdatter – Mother 1848–Deceased. He is my cousin's grandfather. I am wondering if he ever came to Chicago before 1940 to visit-he died in Kristiansund but my father reported having seen him at some time in Chicago. Thanks for any help you can give me! We are trying to find any descendants, in Norway or the U.S., Tak! Inez Bergquist
