I`m looking for the passenger rec. for my GGrandfathers brother, he left Norway (Bergen) May 1884, with one of the boats from National Line.

All information is interesting!

Mariann.

Hi Mariann -

Your GG Uncle Chris is on the police emmigrant register at this link:

http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&filnamn=EMIBERG&variabel=0&postnr=16866&fulle=true&spraak=e

Looks like he was accompanied by a Mons Tvedte.

List of possible ships from Liverpool to New York from this link:

http://www.norwayheritage.com/t_corresp.asp?id=6720

SHIP NY ARRIVAL
SS Celtic May 30
SS Oregon May 31
SS City of Chester June 1
SS The Queen June 1 (National Line)

The passenger lists for these ships are on microfilm at NARA:

http://www.archives.gov/publications/microfilm_catalogs/immigrant/microfilm_675_rolls_m237.html

476 May 2-27, 1884
477 May 28--June 23, 1884 (probably on this reel)
478 June 24--July 25, 1884

You can buy the reel from Nara or you can view the reel at the NARA local centers or at an LDS family center.

Good luck, John Ulteig

Thank you very much, John!

I knowed the info from Digitalarkivet before, and I have had a woman in USA(I`m living in Norway) who tried to help me find him at the micro film, but it was not possible, but I must ask her which film she looked at..

I will send her the information you gave me, and ask her.

Thanks again!!

Mariann.
