Hi guys,
I haven't been on here in a while but am looking for help finding records on my great-grandmother's brother: Mathias Hanson (and his children). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
I know he was born in 1835 to Hans Olsson and Ingeborg Eilevsdatter and lived near Larvik. He is buried in Tryon, Nebraska. d. 1912
My great-grandmother is Aaste Hansdatter and married Lars Andersen. |

In the US 1900 census Matthias says he was born in April 1835 Norway and came to US in 1871 and is naturalized. His wife is Helena b Feb 1849 came to US 1883. According to the census they or rather she had 5 children, 3 boys and 2 girls. They are Hans b Feb 1885 Norway sic, Mary b Dec 1886 Norway sic, Peter b Dec 1888 Nebraska, Ingeval b Jan 1891 Nebraska, and Maltilda b Mar 1893 Nebraska.

Same family members in 1910, no children married, but son Hans lives next door. This time Matthias and Helena are listed as having been married 2 times each and this time for 27 years. The oldest two are listed as born in Kansas rather than Norway:

The associated tree at Familysearch list the five children in the marriage. This is a diiferent tree from then one associated with one of the links to Familysearch posted above by Jackie, and provides some further details about the children. (Be careful with undocumented "facts" in this tree, though. It claims he died exactly on his 77th birthday, i.e., April 3, in contradiction with the FAG record.)

It says that the groom's first wife died i Larvik in 1870, while the bride is not previously married. |
