Julia Burns was named Guri Eriksdatter in Norway. She was married to Ole Olsen Bøen, a brother to your g.grandmother Julia Thompson (aka Gro Olsdatter Bøen).

I found this today. I had to translate it from Norgweign. I founded it interesting that everyone here found what I had been searching for for many months another someone in Norway can't find Knute Thompson.
You deserve a medal for all your hard work!!

All sources are from American Censuses and children's marriage certificates:
Knut Thompson was born in February 1846 in Norway and Julia
was born in December 1843 in Norway, they married in 1867 in Norway and immigrated to America in 1877 (according to the 1900 Census in Dover Town , Buffalo, Wisconsin, USA)
Before emigrating, they had three children born in Norway:
July (name according to US sources) born February 1868
Bettsy (name according to US sources)) born December 1868 and
Thomas K (Tom: name according to US sources) born 1876 In Norway The
daughter Mathilda (Tilda) was born in Wisconsin in May 1882.
I have marriages for these children in the United States - without any help - no clue where they came from in Norway
I have the family in the 1885 and 1895 Census in Dover Town, Buffalo, Wisconsin,
and in 1900 in the same place,
and in the 1910 Census mother Julia lives with her son Tom (Thomas) who had then become a widower, he married in July 1905 with Myrtle Preston, she died
Julia is then mentioned as M.1- = married once, but her husband Knut is not entered this place- he may be dead- but has not found a death certificate- The
daughter July was married in April 1891 to Gilbert Erickson (Areckson)
Beyond this I know nothing, and all searches in Norway and the United States regarding emigration-immigration has given zero result.
No search regarding the birth of children has given results- it should have given something in Norway
-not something about where and possibly when Knut (b. 1846) died in the USA- There is not a single hint about where in Norway these came from and no matter where and what I have applied for in this country I end up banging my head in the famous brick wall
I want a little crack in that wall !!
Can any of you help?
Actually, it should not be possible to leave here with a whole family of five people and not leave a single trace |

So a little about my family tree: My great grandfather was Milton F. Walling, his mother was Carrie Marie/Karen/Karn Maria Thompson. I was always told that two brothers came at the same time. One took the name Thompson and the other took Everson, Evanson, Ericson (something like that). I don't pretend to know much about Norway and their customs particularly with names. Carrie's father was Thomas Edwin(Edward) Thompson (Evensen) (I think). I'm hoping you can tell me more about the Thompsons in general. I'm also wondering if we are somehow related. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
