This database lists ships that departed from Norwegian ports carrying emigrants between 1825 and 1920. Coverage is nearly complete. Where transcribed passenger lists are available, links to them are also provided. These mainly cover sailing ships up to 1874, but also include some transatlantic steamships. For vessels that served only the first leg of the journey, such as Wilson Line ships carrying emigrants to Hull, it is often possible to find connecting transatlantic sailings for the period 1870–1905. These include sailings confirmed by sources to have carried emigrants from the selected ship and departure date, as well as other possible connections that have not been confirmed.
