Yes, Andrew and Mathia are my great great-grandparents, their son Albert was my grandfather and his brother Henry and sister Anna I visited in Riverside CA as a child at Henrys home.
I have now found their parents were Ole Olsen Massingmoen and Bethe Hansdatter and Andrews siblings. My trip to Norway in 2027 is to visit the areas where they lived.

Thanks for your update Linda. In the searches that I posted I focused on Andrew and his family and on his ancestors. However, I did not find out much information on his wife Mathia or her ancestors. Do you have any information to add about who are the parents of Mathia?

In fact after looking over the posts in this thread in some depth I think it could be useful if you can provide any information on Mathia. Her name seems to be Mathia Olsdatter (Olson) Haugen. and she and Andrew married in Wisconsin in 1871, If we can find the wedding document I think it will provide the names of her parents.

Two things we know about Mathia are that one she is reported to have left Drammen, Norway in 1858. Since she is listed as being born in 1847 on this document it would her put age at about 11 years old. It is likely that she came to America with her parents and settled in Green County were she was married.

He enrolled into service again with Co. G, 7 Wis. Infantry on Nov. 10, 1864 at Prairie du Chien, WI. He mustered out of service in Washington, DC on June 5, 1865.
On March 22, 1867, in Adams Twp., Green Co., WI, he was married to Mathia O. (Mattie) Haugen and had 10 children.
They lived in Hayfield, Dodge Co., MN for a number of years before moving to Rugby, ND.

I have searched for this marriage because I suspect that if found the record would give us the names of her parents.
