What was the normal route from Denmark (Aarhus or Copenhagen) to Canada in 1888?

Probably via England, at least most Norwegian, Swede and Finish emigrants to Canada went via England in 1888. Most of them by Wilson Line ships to Hull, then by Allan Line steamships to Quebec or Montreal. From Denmark maybe vis DFDS from Esbjerg to Harwich, or via Hull - Liverpool. However, it would also be possible to enter Canada via steamship to New York, then train and steamboat to Canada
