Hi & Happy New Year to all

I have been trying to find details of my gggrandfather Ludvig Martin who was supposedly on the ship Swiftsure that arrived in New Zealand in 1865 from ? location. He was abt 19-21 years old in 1865 but cannot find where in Denmark he left from. His parents obviously remained in Denmark but cannot find them in the 1865 census

Any pointers in the correct direction would be greatly appreciated
Regards

The Danes didn't start really keeping information about emigrants until 1868 did they?

Thanks to all those who replied - I now believe that I have a bit missing from his real name - whether it be at the begining or at the end. I guess I will have to keep looking also post the childrens names as one lovely lady suggested - may be we can find him that way. I am leaning toward this one for some strange reason
FT 1845
Ludvig Martin Lauritzen age 2 - Odense
Christian Ludvig Martin Pedersen age 2 - Randers
Martin Ludvig Lieberkind age 1 year - Frederiksborg
Carl Ludvig Gottfried Martin Lesser age 1/2 year - København
Or maybe I am just hoping it's him - but no mother listed - why would that be??
Kindest regards and thanks again
