Ole T. (Skeie) and Anna Maline Eide (b. 1857) emigrated from Sand, Norway in 1882 and went to Illinois (probably LaSalle County, perhaps near the town of Ottawa), where they changed their names to Ole and Anna (Malinda) Eide. Two children were born in Norway: Jacobine Johanna b. 1876 and Thorbjorn (Thomas?) b. 1877, more children born in the US. Anna's mother Kristina Knutsdotter (Christina Knuteson) went with them. Any descendants? I have photos I would like to identify.
Torbjorn (see above) married a woman named Nellie Nelson, who was descended from the Sloopers, who immigrated to the US in 1825, under the leadership of Cleng Peerson.

The 1900 US federal census for LaSalle Co. Illinois shows Ole T. and Anna M. Eide to be farming in Miller township of that county.
The census lists Ole as 50 yrs old, Anna as 43 yrs old and indicates that they have had 8 children during their marriage but that only 5 still survive to 1900.
In the household with them are living two sons - Christ T., 17 yrs old, born Illinois; and Knute T., 13 yrs old, born Illinois.
Also listed is widow Christina Knutson, 77 yrs old.

The RootsWeb website for LaSalle Co. Illinois lists a Malinda Eide and children in the listing for the "1917 Prairie Farmer's Directory" -
1917 LaSalle Farmers

The 1920 US census for Rutland township, LaSalle Co. lists widow Malinda Eide as 62 yrs old and the only "child" still living in the household is Knute Eide, 34 yrs old, b. Illinois.
