Again, thanks for all you have contributed. You have supplied me with at least a months work. Such interesting material.

As to the 5th cousin. One of the first things I was taught when I began my study of genealogy was to be suspicious of claims that led to famous people. This 5th cousin seems to have some stature among Norwegian genealogist. In the history of Breden you supplied to me from another post he was the contributer of at least one of the articles "Spelemannen Isak fra Sel" Verifying all of his work will be beyond my abilities but the attempt is fun.

Thanks again. I am sure I will have further questions at a later date.

Hi,
Isak Isaksen Rusten "Spelemann" Fiddler born on Selsverket (Sel), a Copperworks, was an interesting person.
It says a division of Norwegian soldiers had stopped on Vik in Kvam on way to the border in one of the many wars against Sweden.
Standing on a fence post he played for the soldiers on his fiddle, he finished the playing with a somersault from the fence.

I understand well you need some time to orgainIze the information.
You are welcome back to this forum by a later occation.
