Kiersti Hansdatter was born in 1782 in Gran, father was Hans Erichsen and mother was Mari Tostensdatter. From this entry, first one on right side

Is there a way to abstract a date for this baptisim. It looks a little like September for the month but difficult to find a date.

It says Septuagesima, in 1782 this was January 27.

They were noting the date by using the Ecclesiastical Calendar. You can Google for "Septuagesima" and learn the origins of that specific term.

It is like saying we'll have dinner together on Easter (oops - this year that was YESTERDAY, but next year it falls on April 4th.) Maybe we could reschedule for Whitsunday (hint - also known as Pentecost)?

Ecclesiastical dates are discussed in the article which I'm constantly advising people to study about Norwegian church records --
