Ole Ellefsen had 21 children with 5 different women. The story about Ole (which was - and is still - called "Bakke-Storen" (Big Bakke; "The Big) in Skjak. Not being physically big, his nickname may be due to his relatively huge "production" of sons and daughters.

He was also jailed for his excesses - and for moonshining. See:
