It seems that everyone will sooner or later come up with ancestors who owned or where on a farm somewhere...
If you have done any research of these can I suggest that this could become a starting place for great sources of these records? These are a few I have found so far...

Johan I. Borgos has this site which includes Norwegian, Farmer types, Administrative units in Norway, Special Nordic characters, And Norway Farm Names

The Documentation Project
includes Norwegian Farm Online Searches Online Searches including County, Municipality, Parish, Farm name, Farm number, Literature ref, Older word forms, Free Text Search.

If you have found others then please feel free to add them here.
