A relative in Norway is looking for her lost family in America. Erik Frederiksen, born 1854, and his daughter Anne, 1879, left for America, bound for Iowa, and arrived in America 8 July 1904.
Sister and brother Elise Eriksen, born 1881, and Martin Eriksen, born 1885, arrived on the ship Angelo on 29 April, 1904. Erik Frederiksen was the father of the other three. They were from Jevnaker in Buskerud.
Can anyone help? It is possible that the children also used the last name Frederiksen in America or changed their name. The farm name in Norway was Myrengen.
Thanks! Dianne

- it seems the dates given is the departure from Oslo, see Elise and Martin and also Erik and Anne Fredrike Fredriksen.

The attestation needed for emigration was dated July 8 1904, see #15 and 16.
Info given here: The father Erik Fredriksen was a widower and half-deaf. It says he returned (to Norway?) immediately. The daughter was here named Anne Fredrikke Eriksdatter.

The family in 1900.
Eriks wife Marte Fredriksdatter died Aug 5 1902, see #13.

Elise and Martin intended to go to N Dakota and the tickets were pre-paid. Somebody else had emigrated before them possibly.
Any info on who that was?

Thank you! No, I have no other information on them. I just returned from Norway and these were the siblings of my relative's grandmother, Marie Eriksdatter, born 1875. Her parents are both gone and she has no one other older relatives to ask for information. I have searched in the census on Ancestry but have found no matches. I will try the N. D. State census. I wonder if the father Erik actually did return to Norway? If so, my relative had no knowledge of it. However, both of her grandparents died before she was born.

Martin and Lise (Elise) used the last name Erikson when they arrived in US. They came from Liverpool with SS Cedric, see manifest #16 and 17.

The tickets were paid for by their uncle Otto C Fredriksen in Northwood, Iowa. (or was it Northwood Grand Forks N.D.?)

It also looks like they were travelling with Marius Eriksen, Sørum, see #15.

Otto and Karen Fredriksen (Otto C and Carrie Frederickson) left Oslo Febr 19 1892 with the children Milla, Fredrik and Johannes, see here.

Amelias birth date which is given as Aug 1881 is actually July 24 1880 and she was baptized Milla Aug 22 1880, see #50 (She is
recorded as born out of wedlock)

The parents were married May 10 1881, see #6.

Karn Johannesdatter (= Carrie Frederickson) with her parents and a brother in 1865.

Ottor Fredriksen (= Otto C Frederickson) with his parents and siblings in 1865.

Thanks so much. Progress! There is discrepancy in the census for Worth County which says that Otto Fredericksen was born June 1855. His birth and baptism record actually shows him born on 3rd June 1958 and baptized June 20. His confirmation in 1874 also shows him born on June 3. Also the Worth County census shows their marriage year as 1874 when it was actually 1881. The census taker must have written down whatever he wanted to or else there was a language barrier misunderstanding! Now I guess I go to Worth County and see if there are descendants in the later census records.

Destination is Northwood Iowa and ticket was paid for by brother and uncle Otto Fredriksen of Northwood Iwoa.
