Where could I find information about the daily life of fishermen and their families who fished off the coast of the island of Smola? They lived at Veidhomen and also at Raket and other places on Smola's northern coast 1830-1895. One family lived at a place called Badnes on the islet of Skrubbhomen. I can find no information on a place called Badnes. I did find the location of the islet called Skrubbhomen. It is also off the northern coast of Smola and appears to be a very small islet. I am guessing only a few (very few) families lived there 1883-1895.

Here is a map you may use to see the places you mention, Veiholmen, Råket and Skrubbholmen. The place called "Badnes" could most likely be Bådnes, - didd not find that place around Smøla.
See map where you can zoom and pan to your liking.

It would perpas be easier to find information about the islands of Smøla if we had some names to work with.
I saw some info reg persons on Båtneset in the 1800s, former Badnes-Bådnes.

Today ca 2200 persons lives in Smøla municipality, or perhaps your folk lived on Smøla island, enter link down page.

Veidholmen todays Veiholmen fishing village.

The history/genealogy books for might contain the information you seek about life and history of the area. “Smøla Bygdebok”, series of 11? volumes by Aashild Berg, Gudmund Frode Berg, Nils Tore Leivdal and Kjell Fredly.
These books will be written in Norwegian so be prepared for that when you locate them.
