Seeking death date and burial date for Bernt Martinsen, born Sandermoen, Grue, Hedmark on 12 December 1859,

Emigrated from Sandermoen to Kristiania 20 March 1882.

Found on 1910 census: Hedemarkgaten 3, Kristiania. Last found in Valerenga, Kristiania until 1930, then the death records are private for internet. Bernt died after 1930.

Thanks so much for any help!
Janice

You're sure he didn't move from Valerenga to some other parish?

You could squeak out a few more years (looks like to the end of 1934) in the dødsfallsprotokol--like a "mini" estate record collected on every deceased person in the jurisdiction (in the case of Oslo all the parishes), chronologically. Lot more looking than any single parish register of deaths.

Is there a way to see the 'register' for 1950-1950 #1108 1 ???? The longer writing for 1950, and not just the book of names??

Online? If it's not there, it's probably not online. But you are speaking of this entry for Bernt Martinsen, stone and earthworker, right?

Source information: Oslo county, Oslo skifterett, Dødsfallsprotokollregister 50 (Hbe 0050), 1950-1950, oppb: Statsarkivet i Oslo.

Frankly, I really can't read Norge, but do understand seeing a name or birth, etc. . Now, looking at first link you sent, I went through everything in the (example: 1830-1830)... Think I found 4 Bernt Martinsen's: 1930-1930, had one Bernt M., then looked in the book with longer writing,: I believe "this" Bernt was 82 1/2, so he would be too old. (#894,II, 10/8, 1930 - my Bernt should be 71 yrs). Second possible found: 1940-1940= #1359,II,10/10 = can't see in larger book to know age at death which mine would be 81; third found in 1945-1945, #1778, I, 19/12 = mine should be 86 yrs; then fourth one found: 1950-1950, #1108,I, 20/8 , Martinsen, Bernt... but the last 3 do not seem to have the book with longer writing to see age died..
Thanks for the help, but guess I really do not know exactly what I am doing.

I have searched the cemeteries in Oslo with no luck.
His grave can be deleted, but will be rec. in the archives.
More and more are getting online, depending on volunteers from the genealogy assosiation Dis-Norge.
It is just to be patient

Where / how did you find him in Valerenga, Kristiania in 1930?
Have you found the death and burial site of his wife or children?
One could trace these, to see if he is buried with any of them, and sometimes a person is buried near parents or siblings.

1910
Kristiania kjøpstad, Hedemarksgaten 3
Bernt Martinsen b 12.12.1859 Grue Solør, Løsarbeider
Anne Martinsen b 05.02.1845 Kongsvinger
Karen Marie Martinsen b 04.10.1885 Kristiania

jkmarler - Excuse me, but what exactly is it you sent... I am rather slow, and don't get it. ????

If - I think I am reading this right, then none of these are "my" Bernt, right??

Thanks for all the help... GREATLY appreciated!

Those Bernt Martinsens were the only Bernt Martinsen listings at the Oslo Community database of burials. Even though there isn't a Bernt b. 1859 there you could use the information to see if it could eliminate one or another of the Bernts you found in the dødsfallprotokol.

As to what was in Anne's dødsfallsprotokol I think it says that she is survived by her husband a losarbeider (pilot worker) and an adult child. I'm not sure what's in the next column.

Not easy to understand all of it.

Oslo probateregister Sept. 9. 1924
"Kone" Wife Anne Martinsen 79,5 "aar gl." years old dead 9? in "Hedemarksgt. 3." Hedemarks-street 3.

"Efterl." (Efterlater) Leaving husband "løsarbeider" daylaborer Bernt Martinsen........"og" and ............."barn" child/children.
