Since this is mainly a Norwegian Forum, it might turn out hard to get a decent reply on Swedish requests. There are not many Swedish Genealogy experts here in this Forum. I suggest you place an inquiry in the Swedish Anbytarforum Forum.

Questions about Ed, Gävleborg can be put under Hälsingland Landskap, and questions about Nordmaling, Västerbotten, can be put under Västerbotten Landskap.

Good luck!

When I was working on some Swedish genealogy for a friend I found that the FamilySearch WIKI helped me identify parish locations and learn about reading and using Swedish church records. I also studied some specifics about the Swedish records at the SweGGate website.

Then at my nearest LDS Family History Center I found they had an online subscription service available free for patrons at the center that is called ArkivDigital which includes wonderful images of the various parish records of Sweden. To pay for a subscription to that service myself would not have been very expensive but I decided to do my friend's research at the center in a number of visits.

It isn't that hard to to it yourself if you find and study the 'how-to'.

Thee is a Family Tree on Ancestry.com owned by Ulf Lanekoff
Uppsala as follows.

Johan Johansson
Birth ABT 1826 in Bjurholm

wife
Johanna Margaretha Abrahamsdotter
Birth ABT 1823 in Nordmaling

son
Karl Johansson Häggström
Birth ABT 1854

Parents of Johan Johansson are also listed in this Family Tree and in several others as.

Johan Johansson
Birth ABT 1793 in Nordmaling
Death ABT 1839

Cajsa Greta Olofsdotter
Birth ABT 1796 in Nyby
Death ABT 1839

The family tree owned by sryglert follows her family a long ways back in time. However one needs to be careful since some of the dates are obviously incorrect. One ancestor listed as

Olof Olofsson Forsberg Den yngre
Birth 14 FEB 1767 in Brattfors
Death 5 AUG 1848 in Nyby

can be googled and some intersting discussions found For example this Family Tree on Geni, com

The Geni.com Family Tree can be traced back from Olof Olofsson Forsberg Den yngre back to your Johan Johansson and using it will give you a very good picture of his ancestry. Rembering of course that this is a unsourced Family Tree.

Johanna Margareta Abrahamsdotter, Birth 19 March 1823 on Hörnsjö farm in Nordmaling, Vasterbotten, Sweden. See page 115 of the Nordmaling parish book for Births and Christenings (1810-1826) then find the family listed on page 143 of the Household records (clerical survey) book (1826-1835) for Nordmaling.

...but the Swedish Johanna is a red herring. It would clear up much confusion were the OP to explain. See end of Hans Haakensen b 1837 thread. The OP saw an Ancestry tree with another, different Hans Haakensen b 1828 than the OP's b 1837 (the Doan tree as noted by Anton).

The tree does loop de loops around the facts, and mistakenly names the Johanne Abrahamsdatter who married Hans Haakensen b 1828 as being this Swedish woman. I looked up the 1865 census (in Toten) and marriage record for that Hans Haakensen and his NORWEGIAN wife. His father was Haagen Olsen; hers Abraham Jensen. So this query originates with a mistaken embrace of the wrong Hans Haakensen who has recklessly been assigned the wrong wife - and this was explained in the other thread.

JaneC: I read your post sent on 7/11/2014. I appreciate all the information you have sent and I totally agree with you that someone may have taken a wrong turn. As a new comer to the family tree process, I find this to be a good lesson in securing the facts. I understand why the volenteers are sceptical of the posted family trees and rely on the facts. It has alertted me to stick with the records.

Thank you.
