In 1801 in Gjerspen Talemark is the family of Jens Riisberg. His wife is Anne Karine Haagensdatter and his son is Peder.

Jens also used the name Christensen and he is listed on Peder's christening record as Jens Christensen Riisberg.

Peder's christening was on 25 May 1800 and the image is here http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?show=17&uid=535628&urnread_imagesize=gigant&hode=nei&ls=1&lc=x%259CK%25B42%25B2%25AA.%25B62%25B4R%25CAT%25B2.%25B62%25B1R2%25B7%25B00%25061%2581B%25C5J%25D6%2599V%2586%25E6%25D6%25B5%2500%25C0q%2509%25C4

I see other names on this document. One is Lars Riisberg. I think Lars is Jens' brother. Does this record indicate relationships? Who are the others? a

I find indexes to other children of this couple on familysearch.org
Karin baptized on 26 May 1806 and Ole baptized on 11 Dec 1808

I also see Anne Kirstine Jensdtr christened on 12 May 1816 and Anne Dorthe Jensdtr christened on 3 Mar 1822. Their parents are Jens Christensen and Anne Karine Haagensdtr. That is a huge gap for the children which makes me think there must be other children. Or perhaps another couple with the exact same names. This seems unlikely in such a small town.

Here is the record of daughter Karin. http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?uid=537223&urnread_imagesize=gigant&show=30#toppen

I have the same questions about the other people on this record

Here is the record of son Ole http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?uid=537890&urnread_imagesize=gigant&show=35#toppen

Thank you

Who are the others?
- they aree the witnesses, sometimes they may be relatives.
I read that the family was living at Fossum when Peder was born. The witnesses were Lars Riisberg, Karen Maria Andersdatter, Lars Haagensen, Jan Haagensen and Lars Skjold.

I believe Karen was baptized Karen Maria. The witnesses were Halvor Aslaksen, Maria Hansdatter, Jan Jørgensen, Christen and Lars Riisberg.
For Oles baptism I read: Jan Jørgensen, Marthe Hansdatter, Jens Andersen, Peder Aslaksen and Jens Tør??.

I believe you can rely on the info that Anne Kirstine and Anne Dorthe are the daughters of Jens Riisberg and Anne Karine Haagensdatter the parents of Peder who was born 1800.

Riisberg was also spelled Riiser and Riis.
Jens Christensen Riisberg had a twin brother Peder, bapt. in Gjerpen church Mai 17. 1778, father Christen (Olsen) Risberg (born on Røros 1748)

See a discussion (in Norwegian) "Christen Olsen Riser" of March 2011 on DIS-Norge Slektsforum. http://www.disnorge.no

A web page on website http://gamlegjerpen.no/ includes a wealth of information about this family.

For one, it says Christen Olsen Riisberg/Riiser was bap. 22 Sep 1748, son of Ole Larsen Rise and Ingeborg Christensdatter.

Says Jens's mother was a widow with two children when she married Christen. Not able to post link.

The origin of the name Riisberg was Riise/Rise and goes back to ca 1650 on Røros.
When Ole Larsen Riise 1720-92, Christens father, bought farm/house nr 142 from Henning Aalborg he changed name from Riise to Riisberg.
Ole was married to Ingeborg Christensdatter 1720-1806.

Ole Larsen Riise, his parents;
Lars Olsen Riise 1690-1728 and Petronille Ingebrigtsdatter 1671-1762.
His parents;
Ole Larsen Riise "Bergknekt" Miner in Røros Copper Works b. ca 1669-70 and unknown wife. lived in house nr 137 until 1732 where he moved to farm "Middagsvolden"
His parents;
Lars Olsen Riise d. before 1701 (not rec. in the 1701 census) and Ragnhild Jonsdatter, d. before 1715, probate rec. 1715.

They lived in house nr 70 (a corner building)

I wonder who widow Anne/Anna Christophersdatterr who married Christen Olsen Riisberg/Riise in Kongsberg Nov. 19. 1768 was. Third column 2, from top link

Her first husband was Jon(Ion) Thommesen Røraas (see 2nd line in the wedding record above) They married June 7. 1760, Third colum 6. from bottom link

Jon Thommesen died ca 1767, probate dated Mai. 17. 1767.
They had two children; Christopher and Walborg link

Anna was born 1740, her father was Christopher Christophersen Laugerud/Landerud?, right page 4. baptism from bottom link
Not sure, perhaps her father was from farm Landerud/Laugerud.
