Bygdeboker available for that area to consider consulting -
Sigdal og Eggedal, 1 vol by Thormod Skatvedt; same series continued 4 volumes by Andres Mĝrch.
For several years there was also a person who was encouraging posters on some message boards/forums to join a group dedicated to descendants of emigrants from Sigdal. I do not have that contact information but it should still be available in their archives. |

Thans Kċre that Family Tree does not take me any futher back than I already have accomplished.
Erik (Erich) Knudsen Skinnemoen. This site shows wife and chidren but not the parents.

Thans Jackie. So when I search for Eidal in the 1801 Census, I turn up this family with father named Knud. The ages of Knud Jonsen and wife Marj Gundersdatter are such that they could be the parents of Erik Knudsen.

Knud and Marj were married in 1772 four years after birth of Eirk so maybe a little off. Their first child Marta that I could find was born in July 10 1774. in Sigdal.

A Knud Christiansen lived on a sub farm under Sĝndre Viig age 45 in 1801. Could be the local name on the sub farm-
Blegeberg (Blekeberg) is correct.
Off the record, My father served under ensign Blekeberg on Colt machine-gun against the Germans april-mai 1940.

They married in Holmen old church church demolished in the 1840s. Mari was from Skinnemoen.

I will take a better look tomorrow, but it seems like Erik Knudsen's origin is unknown (b. ca 1768) but he bought Skinnemoen from his father in law Jon Narvesen in 1797 for 400 RiksDaler. Skinnemoen was Jon Narversen's wife Guri Olsdatter Skinnemoen's inheritance

No info on where Erik Knudsen was born. Sigdalsboka page 651 telles he was born 1768 (info above when he bought Skinnemoen also comes from the same book)
A new edition of Sigdal and Eggedal Bygdebok, volume VI-X are published where mistakes and add. info is from the 1951 edition are supplemented. The 5 new volumes cost ca 2000 Kroner.
Volume X contains 12 000 names and a complete farm register

Confirmed in Holmen in 1788 at age 19 as Erich Knudsen Ejdalt
Engaged to marry April 9, 1789 in Holmen as Erich Knudsen witnesses are Ole Rund and Anders Ejdalt
Married June 5, 1789 in Holmen as Erich Knudsen

There is only one Anders listed on Eidal (Ejdalt) in the 1801 Census he is Anders Knudsen age 50 born abt 1751 married to Aase Knudsdatter and with three children.

There are five children listed for Knud Biornson or Knud Biornson Eidahl in the Ancestry data base for Sigdal Buserud none of them named Knud or Erich.

Berte Knudsdatter baptised May 22 1747
Ingebor Knudsdatter baptised Mar 16 1749

Perhaps Erich Knudsen comes from the other side of the family. Aase Kudsdatter age 56 in 1801 born abt 1746.
This is likely her from Ancestry.com data base
