On the actual manifest his wife is named as "Elise Petersen" with an address in Christiania, Norway.

Based on the address given in the original manifest for his wife named Elise Petersen of Hesselbergsgate 6, I would think she can be found in this long list. He is also listed along with three children, so I do not think he is an active candidate.

I was wondering if the OP had any further success in your research? I believe that my wife is a descendent of Carl John Petersens 3rd son - also called Carl John - and so I believe my Mother-In-Law may be your cousin.

I would be interested to know more if you've found any further detail and also happy to share details of Carl John Petersen's (junior) Family.
