When my grandfather was born in 1867, his mother was an unmarried servant in the household of a clergyman, who had two small daughters.

The 1900 census shows the daughters unmarried, still residing with their elderly father.

I would be interested in translations of their descriptions in that census: Fredrikke Barth -"Syg, kan intet bestille"; Anna Barth: "Bogholder og Kasserer ved Nationaltheatrets kontor Xania".

Fredrikke: Ill, unable to work
Anna: Bookkeeper and cashier at the office of Nationaltheatret, Christiania.

Nationaltheatret — «The national theater» — is still Oslo’s main theater.

Kasserer has a range of meanings in Norwegian. In this case, treasurer could be a better translation than cashier.

Thanks very much. The Google Translation for the expression beginning with "sick" was nonsensical, as is often the case.
