Have you tried using Bygdebĝker. These are the farm history books usually found in libraries. I will send off an email to the research librarian at UND with a link to this thread and see if he can find out any information on the family of John Hansen living at Skogedalen.
So far no marriage in Bĝ for a Jon Hansen back from 1843 to 1831 so I think that the record you found in Sauherad is likely the correct marriage record.
The record reads
bachelor John Hansen Skogedal age 24 father Hans Olsen and girl Else Anundsdatter Kaasas age 24 father Anund Iversen
Anund Iversen and family in 1801 census
Link
Hans Olsen with mother and in between wives in 1801 Census

In the 1865 Census for John Hansen the record showed that he was born in Bĝ. However that did not seem to match the other records. Here in the 1875 Census it shows that he was born in Sauherad ie Saude.

I just received a scan from Michael Swanson the Research Librarian at the University of North Dakota that puts the definitive answer to your questions about Han Johsne. I will put up the scans see but it definitely states that the parents fo Hans Johnsen are John Hansen and Else Amundsdatter.
The scans come from this Bygdebok.
And they contain the following information on your ancestor Hans Johnsen.

This is the part of the Bygdebok that covers the Skogedalen farm, which seems to have also had a subform called Subĝ. So the main farm was Grivi and a subform Skogedalen was further subdivided into a subform called Subĝ. One of the strongest driving forces for folks to emigrate from Norway was the lack of land that a man could make a living on by farming. Too many divides made it impossible to survive on the little bit of land.
Hee is the main part of the discussion but it does not add much too our understanding. The main conclusions come from the posting directly above of the Ĉtta which means clan or family

John Hansen was not from Hallen in Nes sub parish Sauherad but from farm Farvollen in Sauherad if not Hallen was a local name on Farvollen. Even Farvollen was rekorded as a farm "Under Sunde", but the farmers on Farvollen owned the farm. |

Hans Olsen Farvollens father was Ole Gudmundsen Fluxrud. He married Inger Cartine Marcusdatter in Sauherad church Oct. 19. 1766. She was from farm Odden under Megarden in Sauharad. See Down left page; copul. (marriage) 12, 16th and 19th link
They settled down on Farvollen after they married.
The owners Nils Gunnarsen and Kjersti Hansdatter Farvollen became old and sick, and their children was not able to take care of them. It was Kjerstis niece Inger C. Marcusdater who inherited the farm by taking care of them and give them free supplies and a room as long as they lived for 139 Daler. |

Sorry for my very delayed response, I had a very hectic week with no time to get back here. I certainly didn't expect to come back to so much information!
First, thank you Anton for contacting UND and verifying John Hansen and Else Anundsdatter as parents of Hans and Asberg. I hadn't found anything, so I really appreciate it. You've also given me another great resource I hadn't thought of.
Also thank you Kċre for the farm name and info, tracing back even farther, and all the great details! Innkeeper. I always assumed all my ancestors were farmers. All of my grandparents were farmers here in the states.
Now I am going to relax with a cup of coffee while I dig into all this and get it on my tree.

You're welcome. I'm drinking coffee all day Farvollen is located to a small countryside in Sauherad, Hjuksebĝ, on the east side of the river between the two lakes Norsjĝ and Heddalsvannet.
If you Google Hjuksebĝ most of the info and photos are from the Railway station |
