5 of the 9 children of my grandfather's cousin have the following notation in the 1922 census for Bergen: "Barn - Ulfsnæsøens Skollhjem Næsse i Alversund". 3 boys, 2 girls ages 8 to 17. Their last name: Skare.

Næsse i Alversund, Hordaland is the rural area where their mother, my grandfather's cousin Brita Nilsdatter, was born.

All these children were born in Bergen, where their father Erik Monsen Skare works as gasværksarbeider. So, probably low income. Could they be away at a boarding school?

Located on a small island; this was an educational institution and schoolhouse for criminally charged boys aged 10-15 years.
It was an alternative to being held in prison. Today the school instution is closed down, and it is actually an open prison, keeping 31 men and women in unlocked houses among wild sheeps and alpacas.

Peder this may be of interest: Britha Nilsdatter, in your family tree, was daughter of Nils Christiansen. Nils was my great-grandmother's brother. Her name: Christi Christiansdtr, born 1845. My grandfather was her first child. He was illegitimate, raised as a foster child on a farm at Yttre Fosse, near Alversund. Thus his name, Hans Fosse.
Christi Christiansdtr later married Anton Fotland, emigrated 1900 with husband, daughter, son to Utah. At some point they had all become Mormons. She died 1911.

ok, I see where the mistake is. I wrote at the end 'found in my heritage' meaning the info I sent was found in a tree from 'my heritage' a paid subscription which was done by someone other than me. that person Britha is not a person in my own personnel tree.

Hi Ron, you inquired about the habitual residence noted for the children in this census record:

... and jwiborg kindly supplied an answer.

Did you notice?

Peder, you have a subscription to MyHeritage and many other people do not. Your good intentions in bringing forward information from that site are clear and appreciated. But may I suggest taking the additional step of pointing out the lack of necessary sources, and explaining that you are posting information that you haven't verified. Thanks
