I am struggling thru Bygdebok for Alenfit, written in Nynorsk. Please help with this sentence describing Børge Johannesen: "Børge var skysskaffar 1725 og fleire år etter, og var for tinget fleire gonger med søksmål mot folk som ikkje hadde skyssa når dei var tilsagde."

A rough translation

Børge provided transportation in 1725 and for many years after, and was in legal disputes many times with people who had not got the transportation when they were promised

The farmers in a district had a duty to provide horses for certain categories of travellers, and a skysskaffer organized this. The excerpt says that Børge at several occasions had to sue people who had not done their part when summoned. The next sentence in the book, not cited, saus that in such cases he [Børge] had to do the work himself, and he demanded and got a ruling for a compensation.

So in fact the travellers got their transportation, and the offended part was not the traveller but Børge.
