Your kit number is only useful to you. You use it and your password to sign into ftdna on the ftdna sign in page.

https://www.familytreedna.com/sign-in

Have you singed in at the page above and is so what do you see?

If you sign in on the ftdna sign in page you should see your dashboard page. Most of the page looks like this.

Yes, but I am looking within the "Norway DNA project." I can see your kit number N152778. Can you see mine? B608638

A small portion on the left side shows this

Do you see the link labelled "Norway Project - Norge" under myProjects.

Let me know what you see and where you are at and we will go from there.

Yes. I can get all the way into the location of "Norway Project - Norge." But under "results" do you see my kit anywhere?

Well there are a lot of results to look at. What is your Y DNA test is it Y12, 28, 37, 67 or 111.

And what is your Haplogroup

That is a good question. I do not know where to find my "haplogroup" or the other Y DNA test. When you enter into one of the those screens - what do you see? Does it say "DNA matches" or something special?

If you look at the first screen shot I posted you will see that my Haplogoup is gives as R-M198 and on the same screen is the group of tests and my are dark blue all the way to Y67 meaning that I took the Y67 test. Look for yours on that same screen.

Ok, my badges are blank - asking for $119 to explore more. To avoid the cost, David W said back in January he could use my Ancestry DNA. So I uploaded my AncestryDNA into FamilyTree. Then David said "join" the project, which I did. But now I cannot tell if my actual DNA is part of the project. I believe the project was going to analyze my Y-DNA from my upload. Did you pay extra to see your badges?

Ok, I ran my raw ancestry data through the MorleyDNA.com. It produced a Y-SNP number = G-L42

Does this help?

Y-DNA12, I see my G-L42 next to: Elling Gundersson Eidsvik c1585-1635 Vatne, MRO

Would you agree?

The SNP number is useless to me.

I purchased a Y67 DNA analysis direct through ftdna. So the data on Haplogroup and matches comes with the test.

I think that right now you are a member of the project but I suspect your test results are not part of the project.

You might be better off starting over and getting a DNA analysis from ftdna. But first what is it you want from a DNA analysis. Y DNA would tell you something about your male line of ancestors. Are they Norwegian? A mtdna tells you something about your maternal ancestors. A family finder or autosomal test gives info on both sides but for a shorter time frame ie not too far back in your tree. I have no idea what the Ancestry test is but likely not a Y DNA and most likely autosomal, which is what I think Ancestry does.

I am still searching for any connection to my Norwegian ancestors. It is interesting that within MorleyDNA.com gave me G-L42. When I searched all the markers, I found a match in the Y-DNA12. Is it possible now to peel the onion on "Elling Gundersson Eidsvik" to my original 2nd Great Grandfather Christian (Chris) Danielsen (Danilson) or his wife Albertine Bronson Amundsen. Can you help make the connection between Elling and Christian? Thank you
