Does anyone have access to the Hornnes Gards book by Olav O. Uleberg? I was wondering if it covers Evje parish farms Rosseland, Aavesland and Aasland?

Unfortunately not. According to this page there has been some initiative to assemble a farm- and ancestry-book for Evje, but as far as I can see, nothing has turned up so far.

Information on the Aasland farm can be obtained from

Åseral Gard og ætt I side 23. Hornnes I Gards- og ættesoge

In my tree is my 7th great grandmother

Anna Gunulvsdttter Aasland
1663–
BIRTH ABT. 1663 • Evje, Aust-Agder, Norway
DEATH Unknown
7th great-grandmother

She married

Notto Salveson Hornnes
1663–1733
BIRTH ABT. 1663 • Evje, Aust-Agder, Norway
DEATH DEC 1733 • Hornnes, Evje, Aust-Agder, Norway
7th great-grandfather

In my tree I have referenced page 23 but I see this Geni.com profile references page 338.

I used the services of UND to get scans from the Åseral bygdebok.

Åseral Gard og ætt and Hornnes I Gards- og ættesoge are different books. Åseral municipality is located 25-30kms West of Evje og Hornnes, and both municipalities have an Åsland farm.

The couple Anna Gunulvsdotter Aasland and Notto Salveson Hornnes are mentioned in both books (p. 23 & p. 338) because they married across municipalities, but neither is connected to Evje.

Thanks. Looks like I am out of luck for now until they write the Evje bydgebøk. I will have to check for probates. The people of interest were: Siri Elefsdatter (bp. 5-1-1676) Rosseland; Elef Phillipsen (bp. 9-27-1722), and Helgie Elefsdatter (bp. 12 June 1757) from Rosseland; Ellef Knudsen and Joran Olsdatter married 30 June 1739 in Evje, and daughter Siri (bp. 24 Oct 1745). Also, Siri Hansdatter (bp. 1 Dec 1715) and parents Siri and Hans Aavisland from Aavisland farm.
