| Paal Elfred (Alfred) Falkelid b. 1898 in Suldal, Rogaland, arrived (immigrated) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in 1924, unmarried, laborer. Father Nils Gabrielsen Falkelid, mother Kjersti Paulsd. (Paalsd.) b. 1867. His mother's sister Elrid MacDuff and family had settled in Waverly, close to Halifax, some years before. Elrid b. 1854 had two children, none had descendants, the daughter Elrid Segrid died in Calgary in 1996, 102 years old! The form Paal (Paul) signed upon entering Canada is the last sign of him. The family in Norway "had not heard from him since 1924". Did he just disappear? Or is the problem no available online resources in Canada? Any clues? Tusen takk/Thank you. |

This is a long shot but there is a Family Tree on Ancestry.com for a Paul Nelson of Saskatoon,Saskatchewan.

| Tusen takk - Thank you for a quick response, I would not have gotten that far into canadian resources. I think it is pretty sure that the Paul Nelson in 1926 is the right guy, both age and immigration is correct, and the newspaper obit is from the same area. |
