I recently found a record for Karen Lovise Nilsdatter Eliasen in which I believe it’s a baptismal record for her daughter. In the record though, the parents are listed as Nils Olsen Ørn and Erich (?) Eliasen. Her daughter was Nielsine, born on September 11 1829. The baptism is for February 27 1830.

Is this (#10, right) the record? The mother's first name is hard to read, but is rendered as Lovise here: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20051116020844

And, the fact that at some points she'd use Eliesen or Nilsdatter (or both) is confusing...

The theme here is that there was a family in Kongsberg who had some difficulty separating Eleisen from other patronymics and there was a Niels in the family who ended up living in Trondheim. The hope was Niels might have had a daughter named Karen but so far the two known daughters have been named Kirsti in her baptism and in 1801 census and Else Marie in other records as well as 1801 census.

Not sure these hav been posted before.

There was apparently some kind of Tax census 1840 in Kongsberg and the last three ____73, _____74, ______75 might be Karen Lovise and two of her children. Birth years for the two children seem to be off a bit (Jorgen b 1826 and Nielsine b 1829) but gives a birth year for the painter's widow of 1783.

Apparently Laurine Martine Gundersdatter Øhrn (b. 1822 - d. 1896) is buried in Vår Frelsers Gravlund. I’ve noticed that that part of the family (the Øhrn side which I’m descended from) has a couple of graves in that prestigious cemetery. I wonder if my ancestors had to have some sort of prestige themselves to be buried there and if it was common for families to be buried there. Here’s a link to Laurine’s grave: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/252353985

From what I read in the piece on Vår Frelsers Gravlund on Wikipedia, part of the cemetary has been used to bury dignitary personages since the early nineteen hundreds. Being buried there in 1896, I believe signifies primarily that you were affluent, as a grave there was more costly than in the other Oslo cemeteries.

There is a Norwegian counterpart to find-a-grave which covers the majority of Norwegian cemeteries. Curiously, I do not find Laurine Martine's grave there. (Unsuccessful search) Find-a-grave is very specific about the location of her grave, however, so it would be worth the effort to check the next time in Oslo.

Well, I cannot speak to Laurine Martine Øhrn, however the graves for

Haakon Christoffer Øhrn
Johanna Marie Øhrn
Carl Oscar Øhrn

are at Tønsberg gamle, Tønsberg, Vestfold og Telemark

https://slektogdata.no/gravminner/grav/460a9cf3-e699-40a2-ac52-827c3ed8c7ce

Unlike in the USA, in Norway and Germany, a gravesite can be reused because of limited land. This was the case for my 3rd great-grandaunt in Ringerike, Norway, so there might just not be a grave anymore. However, at the same time, not all of the headstones are indexed on the website, so I reached out to the church specifically via email. If you'd like me to do that in your case, just let me know.

Yes, it'd be so helpful if you could try. Unless you'd like to send me the email address and I could do it myself...
