My husband and I are heading to Ringebu, Norway. He has several generations from there. I have census information from Norway, but need help on how to locate where they lived when we get there.

If you post the census records, we can try to find the current addresses or map references.

There are several Gunstad farms. The above map reference point to "Gunstad Nistugun", where Sidsel was born, while this points to Øvre (upper) Gunstad, where Sidsel lived in 1865.

Nora was born at Øverjordet. I believe there are several different Øverjordets, even in Ringebu, but I find that her brother Sverre at one point owned a farm with that name that was divided out from the farm Stulen. That gives this location, which even today does not have any road leading to it.

At the 1910 census, however, the family is listed with address Bølund. According to this issue of the publication Ringebuposten, Bølund was the name of a house which was built in 1894 and burned down in 1949 and had several uses, including being home for a small number of families. It was located somewhere in the street that was named after it, Bølundgata.
