My name is Helge Gabrielsen. My great-grandfather was Christian Theodor Gabrielsen, son of Gabriel Gabrielsen Eeg, and brother of Gustav Adolf Gabrielsen. My father, Øystein Gabrielsen have several letters from Gustav Gabrielsen and Martin Berhand Gabrielsen (he writes to his grandparents in Norway) They are from the 1880s . My grandfather Gabriel Gabrielsen (1893-1980) kept the letters and gave them to my father. We also have Gabriel Gabrielsen Eeg Bible with his handwriting. I just wanted to let you know this, and I can send you a copy of the letters if you want, and perhaps try to translate some of them into English. Awsome to have relatives in the USA and to know that some Gabrielsens are there too (and descandents) I hope you will excuse my English. All the best from Norway!
My e-mail: Helge.Gabrielsen@ha.kommune.no Adresse: Helge Gabrielsen Njærheimvegen 44, 4365 Nærbø

Here is a family tree with a Gustav Adolph Gabrielson in it:

Does Gustav's age seem right? Is his father Gabriel Elias Gabrielson? Is your family from Vest Agder?

Is this your family in the 1865 census?

Here is Gustav Adolph Gabrielsen with spouse and son named Martin Bernhard in 1875:

From the records indexed at the digitalarkivet this Gustav was still in Norway as late as 1881/1882. By 1891 Gustav and his son Martin are in Avonport, Nova Scotia in Canada along with Gustav's wife Mathilde, daughter Bergitte, and sons Ole and Marius.

The wife and kids came on the Carthaginian in Sept 1886 to Halifax:
