What is that occupation? It actually has a line thru the o, but I can't find it on my laptop.

Also, where is Skarsten?

Also, what is a fodaaradsmand?

Is there a Skarsten in Norway? Or is it just spelled completely different? This is the exact spelling my grandmother had in a book she had made of the Fosnes family. I would like to try to look on Digitalarkivet to see if I can find my ancestor's death date. Appreciate any help! Thanks.

There are farms named Skarsten /Skarstein in, Gloppen, Olden, Innvik and Nordfjord in Sogn & Fjordane County in Western Norway and Andøy in Troms County in Northern Norway. Skarsten /Skarstein is also a common last name particular in Western Norway.

Ok, thank you so much! The whole family lived in Innvik, so it would be a farm there? I know it wasn't a last name of my ancestor it was Arnesen and all the book said was that he died in Skarsten, Norway. I appreciate your clarificiation!!

Thank you, but it failed to bring anything up. I'll keep checking, though.

I just tried again and it says "Feil Hentglobal starta" I've been working on that site looking around in the 1801 census, so I know it's been working for me.......

Enter databaseveljar (english version) - all areas - Sogn og Fjordane - Innvik municipality and 1865 census - farm - contains - skarsteen and watch all 16 the farms. Innvik has "all" the records you will need.
Good luck.
