In looking at some old notes on research I have done in Heddal, I noted that I had sent much of this same data to an earlier posting relating to Hans, the older brother of Jonette. You may want to contact this person and compare notes.

This entry shows a Peder Pederson, entry number 10 in the leaving Nord Odal in April 1883. It says he came from some place the looks like it could possibly be Østerdalen (maybe). This Peder Pederson was born on February 1, 1862.
I am just throwing this name into the picture to see what thoughts there may be on him.

Wow, good information. I'm researching the Peder Pederson thing. I kind of remember that some old notes my great-aunt had done shows Peder's father as being named Peder, which would make sense. I have to look at those notes again though to make sure I'm not remembering another family line. Over Thanksgiving I will be at my parent's house and will look again.

I'm not sure if this is the correct Peder because according to the 1900 Census in Redwing, MN he was born Nov 1862.

He was born at Østmobakken but was living at Breibyhaugen when he left the parish.

After doing some research over the weekend, I discovered that Peder (Peter) was born in Kongsvinger, Norway and immigrated to Minneapolis in 1885. This was according to his obituary. Where is Kongsvinger?
