Unclarity,

I have discovered the edit feature and tried to fix the problems. The first 1865 works, at least on my 'puter. But the second regarding marriage doesn't appear fixable. But here is the manual information

Nordland, Vefsn m/Mosjoen, film 820A14, register 1855-1865, marriages 1863 page 264, #5.

Good Luck with your research...

Jackie,

I got the first link to open...the only one that will not open is the one with the couples marriage.

Note to all who read this,

I came across this website last night, I thought it might be worth a try.
Turns out that you are the nicest and most helpful group I have run into
and I thank you all for that!!!!!

Ole Jørgen Larsen & Dorthea Pedersdr had (at least) the following children, besides Berith Lucie:

Doreth Kirstine, b 24 Oct 1836, Vefsn, Nordland
Petrine, b 09 Oct 1838, Vefsn, Nordland
Gurine Petrine Louise, b 23 Jul 1840, Vefsn, Nordland
Andreas Gabriel, b 16 Mar 1843, Vefsn, Nordland
Ane Elisabeth, b 15 Nov 1844, Vefsn, Nordland
Lorentse, b ca 1849, Vefsn, Nordland
Ole Dahl, b ca 1852, Vefsn, Nordland

Doreth Kirstine could be this "aunt Mrs. Christine Larson"

This looks very much like the correct family, especially since they have named one of their sons after Beriths father, Ole Jørgen.
Here is Ole Jørgen Larsen (55) as a widower in census-1865.

Very good finding, Jackie! I think you made a hole in the brickwall!

Jackie,

When you copy and save the arkivet page, use the Permanent pagelink, rather than Permanent imagelink.
This will allow other viewers to enlarge the image.

The bottom link is for saving to your computer, which can be then opened into your imaging program for editing.

I decided to post this here as it is the same family....hope this is proper.

Can anyone tell what the birth date is of Ole Jorgen and Bendigt they are 4th and 5th on right hand page located at

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=16543&idx_id=16543&uid=ny&idx_side=-37

Source information: Nordland county, Vefsn, Parish register (official) nr. 820A08 (1800-1819), Chronological list 1809, page 70-71.

They were baptized September 24, 1809 correct?

I am asking because I am trying to find out if an Ole J. Larson buried at Engelson Cemetery in La Crosse county is indeed MY Ole Jorgan Larson/Larsen. I have the obit for him and there is little info in it. The one clue is that he "died at the home of his daughter". He was living with his daughter Christine.

I have his death document, but this seems to be little help too. Parents are unknown and so is birth date. It is only stated that he is from Norway. And the name Ole Peterson appears as "another important fact" this is the name of MY Ole Larson's grandson.

The obit of his daughter Christine states that her father (Ole Larson) reached the age of 93.

The Ole J. Larson buried in Engelson cemetery has birth date as Aug. 24, 1810 death date April 12, 1903. This would have made him 93 years old. I am pretty sure this is my Ole Larson (even though year of birth is wrong on headstone), but can't seem to get definitive proof.

Any other ideas are welcomed.....thanks
Kara

While Senior Norwegian members can likely tell you very quickly what this date is, I will point you to some web sites I have used to figure out these Ecclesiastical dates. This site defines each of the Sunday's. The one you referenced is the 17th Sunday after Trinitas, ie Trinity Sunday in the year 1809. Definitions Here

Once you figure that out you need to know what date that Sunday was in 1809. You can use Dansk kalender

Click on 1800-1899 Then click on 1809, look down at the bottom of the calendar and you will see that Trititatis for 1809 is May (Maj) 28th. Count 17 Sundays past that date and you will get to September 24th. So your calculation of the date is I think correct.

I hope at least some of this is of use to you and not just repeating what you already knew.
