I have an ancestor named Britha "Betsy" Hansdatter who emigrated to the USA from Finnas with her husband Anfin Ericksen Henjum in 1847. They had previously lived in Leikanger and got married there. However, Britha died while in the USA at a reasonably young age in 1863 (likely due to childbirth complications), so not too much was known about her by her children. In fact, even a family bible in old Norwegian had a verified mistake about her parents.

I am looking to find out more about her ancestry, perhaps from the Aurland bygdebok or some other source. Here's what is known about her for sure:

birth: 05 Feb 1823 Vinjum, Aurland, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway
baptism: 23 Feb 1823
marriage: 29 Sep 1846 Leikanger, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway
parents: Hans Hansen(?) Vinjum & Anna Thoraldsdatter

Nothing is known about her siblings or parent's families. This is what I am most interested in. If anyone knows where to find out more about the Vinjum/Winjum far, that would also be wonderful.

Many thanks,
Sean

PS: Her husband Anfin Ericksen Henjum has been traced back pretty far using the Leikanger Bygdebok.

Britha Hansdatters baptismal record is #23 born at Vinjum by parents Hans Hansen and Anna Tharaldsdatter, baptized in Wangen church.
The marriage record is #23.
Britha was confirmed July 15 1838, see #16 the parents were on Præstegaarden (Aurdal rectory) when she was born. It was her mother Anna Thoraldsdatter who came from this farm, see the 1801 census.
Brithas grandparents were Thorald Olsen and Ingeborg Carlsdatter and her mothers siblings were Ole, Jens Elli and Ingeborg.
Brithas father, Hans Hansen, is most likely the one who was a servant at Vinjum in the 1801 census.
Britha had a sister Kirstine who was born Sept 8 1830 and baptized Sept 19, see #69.
Kirstine was confirmed June 21 1846, see #15.
Brithas older sister Oline was born Dec 31 1819 and baptized Jan 16 1820, see 2nd baptism on right page. Parents were then on Gierløw.
Brithas brother Christian was born Jan 5 and bapt Jan 12 1817, see last baptismal record on left page.

Brithas parents were married Oct 25 1814 in Wangen church, see next to last record on right page.
Hans Hansen was then on Vinjum and Anna Tharaldsdatter was on Nøddum in Holmedahl.
Brithas grandfather, her mothers father, was baptized July 6 1760, see 3rd record from bottom of right page. His father was Ola Thoraldsen, Præstegaarden. (Madme Brun, most likely the Ministers wife, was one of the witnesses.)
The grandmother Ingeborg Carlsdatter was baptized Jan 24 1762, see next to the last record on righte page. Her father was Karl Skirdahl (Skjerdal). (Madme Brun was also one of the witnesses here.)
Thorald Olsen and Ingeborg Karlsdatter were married March 30 1783, see next to the last couple on right page.

Wonderful! Thank you so much for the help. I should be able to take them back further now and really fill out the tree.
