Turning on the image information (Bildeinformasjon) for the linked birth/baptismal record for Carl/Karl and the marriage record for his parents was interesting.

I wasn't familiar with Mære (parish) i (in) Sparbu so used a familiar global search engine to easily encounter the following -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%A6re_Church

Sounds like a fascinating place to attend church or to have a special ceremony.

Still at Nedre Elvegade in 1875 census:
- The 1865 and 1875 census need some clarifications.

Carl Wodahl in the 1865 census is Karl Magnus Gundersen, born Sept 16 1825.
His wife in this census, called Dorthea Hansdatter, is wrong, should have been Dorthea Antonette Johansdatter.

Johan Christian Skjeflo is Dorthea Antonettes brother, he was born May 7 1840, see #18.

Basing a search on eibache's research, one finds a family tree online with the family names styled and spelled as follows:

Gunnar Paalsen Vaadal 1795-1859
Gjertrud Arnsdtr, Rol 1792-1847
Son
Karl Gunnarsen Vaadal, w wife Dorotea Johansdtr Skjevlo

I hope the Original Poster (VirtualG) returns to find Einar's research.
