I am trying to verify some information on Lars Halvorsen Aune. I have that his son Halvor Larson (1718 - 1784) was born to Marit and to Guro Knudsdatter. It possible to have two wives but not two mothers. I have tried digitarkivet but can't come up with any info.

I am also interested in the Aune farm that they lived on. Is there any pictures of the farm? Has any buildings survived from the 1700s? when did Lars Halvorsen Sr family moved to the Aune farm? I know it was sold in 1809 when the younger Lars Halvorsen Aune (1758 - 1840) sold it to his brother in law.

Thanks in Advance.

Well a Geni;com tree has him born in 1718 to Lars Halvorsen and Guro Knudsdatter in Oppdal, Sor-Trondelag. Although the Manager of the Geni.com Tree a Sigmund Rise does have a ? after the name Guro Knudsdattrer on her profile.

The Parish records for Oppland do not start until 1739 so you are not likely to find a parish record for him.

There is quite a collection of Bygedbøker for Oppdal including at least nine of them at the University of North Dakota, have you tried using a bygdebok to look up his family and his farm.

Here is link to the Geni.com tree

Geni.com

You can also email the manager of the tree Sigmund Rise and ask him where he obtained the information on the parents of Halvor Larsen.

It is not until the children such as Lars born in 1758 that the parish records come into play. Here is Lars baptized on Sept 24, 1758.

Fourth record from the top on the left hand page

Lars

And the transcription of that record

And the transcribed record for his first child with Kari Taraldsdatter in 1753. He is given the name Halvor Larsen Klokker at that time

Arn

Perhaps the first Arn died young and another in 1756.

Halvor Larsen married Kari Taraldsdatter on April 14, 1752. No information on their parents is found in the record.

Nine records down on the right hand page

Link

In the transcribed record he is listed as Halvor Larsen Klokker Lieutenant and she as a widow.

Marriage

Kari died in 1794 at age 78. Death record matches the info from the Geni.com Tree

This is likely the death record for Guro Knudsdatter. The dates match that given by the Geni.com tree.

You may find this discussion on the Aune farm and some of its inhabitants from Norway Heritage in 2012 interesting.

Klokker means parish clerk, and this is probably how to understand the designations Arnt Olsen Klokker and Halvor Larsen Klokker Lieutenant; the new parish clerk (previously a Lieutenant?) married the widow of his predecessor.

If he was a lieutenant, there might be some info to be found in military rolls.
