There are about 22 Family Trees with Helge Dahl and Synneva Torbjørnsdatter Svoldal on Ancestry.com. Most use the following information. None that I looked at have any parents or relatives of Synneva.

Appears as if Helge Jensen Svodal ie Helge Dahl eimmigrated about ten years begore his future wife. They seemed to have married almost immediately upon her arrival, making me think the families must have been aquainted in Norway. She was only 17 when she emmigrated.

Perhaps Andreas went to America in 1897 and returned fairly quickly. At least early enough to be included in the 1900 Norwegian Census. If so and that person is the Andreas shown directly above it is also likely that he died in Norway. Here is a listing of a likely candidate.

| Yes that sure is the correct family,thanks alot for great finds Lyndal40. The story in the family is that Helge J Svoldal came home to visit after some years in South Dakota fell in love with my gg grandfathers sister wich was the neighbour girl Synneva T Svoldal and took her to America where he married her,so you were spot on there . I sure got learnt much i didnt know about the Torbjørnson side of the family now,I dont know much about the other siblings of Hans,Andreas and Synneva they were Tørris b1871-1931 Johanne Birgitte 1874-1960 Tora 1887-1973 Torbjørn 1890-1959 maybee some of them went to America too? |
